Martha Newbigging is available for "Artist Visits" in schools and libraries. Her one hour presentation focuses on the process of illustrating non-fiction children's books, from manuscript to finished art. Martha brings the nine books she has illustrated, a digital slide show and original artwork to explain how different types of pictures compliment the text in a book. She wraps up the session with a drawing exercise that encourages kids to think about how to communicate through their pictures.

Martha has visited numerous libraries and classrooms in Ontario and British Columbia. She was the special guest presenter at the the North York Central Library in February, 2007 to help celebrate the winners of the Toronto Public Library Design Your Own Bookmark Contest. She has also appeared twice at the Franklin Children's Garden on Toronto Island. During the summer of 2007, Martha facilitated a weekly Summer Drawing Club for children at her local library in Prince Edward County.
In the Summer of 2006 Martha appeared at several libraries doing Artist Talks and Illustration Workshops as part of the TD Summer Reading Club. In November 2005 Martha toured lower mainland British Columbia as part of TD Canadian Children's Book Week, a program initiative of the Canadian Children's Book Centre. She visited 15 classes and spoke at the Vancouver Children's Literature Roundtable.
